Eunectes is a genus of giant, non-venomous constrictor snakes found primarily in South America. The two known species within this genus are the green anaconda (Eunectes murinus), which is the largest snake species by weight and size, and the yellow anaconda (Eunectes notaeus), which is slightly smaller in comparison.
Eunectes snakes are distinguished by their impressive size, with adults reaching lengths of over 20 feet and weighing several hundred pounds. They have a cylindrical body covered in smooth, water-resistant scales, ranging in color from green to brown with dark patches or bands on their backs.
