Etymology of DIANETICS
The word "Dianetics" was coined by American science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard, who also founded the Church of Scientology. According to Hubbard, he derived the term from the Greek words "dia" meaning "through" and "nous" meaning "mind" or "spirit". Thus, he intended "Dianetics" to mean "through the mind" or "through the spirit".
