Suricata is noun that refers to a small mammal, specifically a carnivorous member of the mongoose family (Herpestidae), native to the deserts and grasslands of southern Africa. Scientifically known as Suricata suricatta, it is commonly called a meerkat.
Meerkats are well-known for their slender bodies, elongated tails, and distinctive facial features. They typically measure around 25-35 centimeters in length, with an additional 17-25 centimeters for their tail. They have a slender build, weighing roughly 0.62 to 1 kilogram. Their fur is generally light brown or gray, with a lighter-colored belly.
