Etymology of SINALOA CARTEL
The word "Sinaloa" is derived from the Nahuatl language, which was spoken by the native Aztec people in Mexico before the Spanish colonization. "Sinaloa" is a combination of two Nahuatl words: "tsina", which means "place of snakes", and "lhuac", which means "among" or "in". Therefore, "Sinaloa" can be interpreted as "in the place of snakes" or "among the snakes". The term "cartel" refers to an organized group of individuals involved in illegal activities, particularly the drug trade.
