Diagnosis of inflammatory pulmonary pseudotumors usually involves a combination of imaging studies, such as chest X-rays and CT scans, to identify the presence of nodules or masses in the lung. Biopsy is often necessary to confirm the diagnosis and differentiate it from other lung tumors or cancerous lesions.
Treatment for inflammatory pulmonary pseudotumors usually involves surgical removal of the lesion, although conservative management is also an option in some cases. In most instances, these pseudotumors do not recur and have a favorable prognosis. However, there have been rare cases where recurrence or malignant transformation has occurred.
