Zoophyta typically possess a soft, jelly-like body known as a polyp, attached to a substrate such as rock or coral. This polyp-like form consists of a cylindrical body with tentacles surrounding a central mouth. Unlike true plants, zoophyta do not possess chlorophyll and cannot carry out photosynthesis.
