The World Calendar is a proposed fixed and perennial calendar system that aims to replace the current Gregorian calendar. It is designed to provide a more logical and efficient system for measuring dates and time. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, which has varying days in each month and a leap year system, the World Calendar follows a consistent pattern for each month and year.
The World Calendar consists of 12 equal months, with each month having exactly 30 days. The additional 5 or 6 days left at the end of the year are considered outside the normal week and coincide with the International New Year's Day - a day of peace and celebration. These additional days are not assigned to any particular month or week.
This proposed calendar system eliminates the need for complicated calculations associated with leap years, as it does not require intercalary days. This ensures that every date falls on the same day of the week every year. For example, if January 1st falls on a Tuesday in a particular year, it will also fall on a Tuesday every year.
The World Calendar offers benefits such as simplified scheduling, improved international planning, and consistency in day-to-day activities spanning different years. However, its adoption would require a global consensus and a transition period to adjust existing systems, customs, and traditions tied to the current calendar.

The word "world" originates from the Old English word "weorold", which is a combination of "wer" (meaning man) and "eald" (meaning old or age). It originally referred to the age of man or the human lifespan. Over time, it came to mean the physical Earth and everything in it.
The term "calendar" is derived from the Latin word "calendae", which was used in the ancient Roman calendar to refer to the first day of each month. It later evolved to denote the entire system of organizing and measuring time.
When combined, the term "world calendar" signifies a system or calendar that applies to the entire world or all of humanity, aiming to standardize time and dates worldwide.
