The Warega fly, scientifically known as Glossina palpalis, is a species of blood-sucking fly that belongs to the genus Glossina and the family Glossinidae. Native to sub-Saharan Africa, particularly the tropical rainforests and savannah regions, the Warega fly is a vector for transmitting the debilitating disease called African trypanosomiasis, also known as sleeping sickness.
Measuring around 8 to 17 millimeters in length, the Warega fly is characterized by its dark, brownish-black coloration.
