Velavadar Black Buck Sanctuary, also known as the Velavadar National Park, is a protected wildlife area located in the Bhal region of Gujarat, India. Spread over approximately 34 square kilometers, it was established in 1976 with the primary objective of conserving and protecting the endangered black buck antelope (Antilope cervicapra).
The black buck sanctuary is home to one of the largest populations of black bucks in the country. Black bucks are medium-sized antelopes known for their striking appearance - the males possess long, twisted horns and a distinct black coat, while the females are light brown in color. Found mainly on the Indian subcontinent, this species is revered for its grace and elegance.
