Seven-card stud poker is a popular variant of the traditional card game, poker. It is played with a standard deck of 52 cards and involves a combination of skill, strategy, and luck. In this variation, each player is dealt seven cards throughout several betting rounds, aiming to create the best hand of five cards using the highest-ranked poker combinations.
The game begins with every player placing an initial bet called an "ante." Then, each participant receives three cards: two face-down and one face-up. The player showing the lowest-ranking face-up card must "bring-in" with a mandatory bet. Subsequently, the remaining players can either fold, call, or raise the bet.
Afterward, three more face-up cards are dealt to all active players, each followed by a round of betting. At this point, the active player with the highest-ranked hand showing initiates the bets.
Finally, a seventh and final card is dealt face-down to each player still involved in the game, followed by the last round of betting. If more than one player remains after this round, a showdown occurs, and the player with the best hand using any five of their seven cards wins the pot.
