The word "sepedogenesis" is an uncommon term used in biology which refers to the reproduction of certain species of insects or crustaceans by means of eggs which are capable of developing on their own, without fertilization. The spelling of this word is quite different compared to other more commonly used biological terms. Its IPA phonetic transcription is /ˌsɛpɪdʒɛˈnɛsɪs/ which shows the stress is on the second syllable and the final "s" sound is pronounced as the /z/ sound.
