It is recognized as one of the two major ideological approaches to governance, along with leftism, and represents the opposite end of the political spectrum from leftist ideologies.
In rightism, individuals and groups typically support traditional social norms, promoting societal stability and order by adhering to customs and principles rooted in established traditions. Advocates of rightism often prioritize preserving societal values and resisting rapid societal changes, as they believe this can lead to moral decay and social instability.
From an economic perspective, rightism generally favors a free-market system, relying on market forces to drive economies. This can involve advocating for deregulation, privatization of industries, lower taxes, and limited government interference in the economy, with the conviction that these policies promote growth, efficiency, and individual liberty.
Rightists often place a strong emphasis on national sovereignty, pride, and identity. They may advocate for stricter immigration policies, a strong military, and assertive foreign policy. Additionally, they generally prioritize individual rights and freedoms, including freedom of speech, religion, and personal property rights.
While rightism can signify various ideologies with differing interpretations or degrees of conservatism, it generally stands for upholding traditional values, limited government intervention, free-market capitalism, and a nationalistic outlook.
