Etymology of NAPOO
The word napoo is derived from French. It is believed to have originated from the phrase il n'y a plus which translates to there is no more or it's all over. Over time, this phrase was contracted and modified into napoo to convey a similar meaning. The term gained popularity through its usage by soldiers during World War I and further spread into English vernacular. Today, napoo is mainly recognized as an informal expression meaning finished or done for.
