Myelanalosis is a medical term used to describe the degeneration of the spinal cord. The word can be broken down into three parts: "myel-", which means "spinal cord"; "an-", meaning "without"; and "alosis", meaning "degeneration". When pronounced, "myelanalosis" begins with "my-el-", with the "y" making an "i" sound and the "e" making an "eh" sound. The stress falls on the second syllable: "mye-lan-A-lo-sis". The last part of the word, "-osis", is pronounced with a long "o" and a soft "s" sound.
