Mary Landrieu is an American politician who served as a member of the United States Senate from 1997 to 2015. She was born on November 23, 1955, in Arlington, Virginia, and is affiliated with the Democratic Party.
The daughter of former New Orleans Mayor and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Moon Landrieu, Mary Landrieu first entered politics in 1979 when she was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives.
