A hypospray, also known as a jet injector, refers to a medical device that administers medications, vaccines, or other substances subcutaneously, without the use of a needle. It utilizes a high-pressure stream of fluid to penetrate the skin and deliver the desired substance into the underlying tissues, offering a painless and needle-free alternative to traditional injections.
The hypospray typically consists of a handheld device, containing a reservoir for the medication and a nozzle through which the fluid is expelled. When activated, the hypospray creates a highly pressurized jet that penetrates the skin, creating a microscopic hole or opening in the epidermis and allowing the medication to be directly deposited beneath the skin surface.
