- "Geo" (from Greek "geō") means "earth" or "land". It is commonly used as a prefix in several English words related to the Earth or geography, such as geology (study of the Earth's structure) or geometry (study of shapes and figures on the Earth's surface).
- "Demography" (from Greek "dēmos" meaning "people" and "graphy" from Greek "graphia" meaning "writing" or "study of") refers to the study of statistics related to populations, including their size, structure, distribution, and other characteristics.
