Electrocoating, also known as electrophoretic painting or e-coating, is a highly efficient and advanced method of applying a protective or decorative coating to various materials, primarily metals.
The electrocoating process involves the utilization of an electric current to deposit paint particles onto the surface of a conductive object. The object to be coated is immersed in a tank containing a water-based paint solution. One or more electrodes are positioned in the tank, typically opposite the object being coated. When an electric current is passed through the electrodes, it causes the charged particles in the paint solution to migrate towards the object. As the charged particles approach the object, they form a uniform film onto its surface, adhering to it through the process of electrolysis.
