In dropshipping, when a customer places an order on the retailer's website, the retailer then passes the customer's order details and shipping information to the supplier or manufacturer, who then packages and ships the product directly to the customer. The retailer essentially acts as an intermediary between the customer and the supplier, handling the transaction and customer service while not holding any inventory themselves.
One of the key advantages of dropshipping is that the retailer does not have to invest in or carry any inventory, eliminating the need for costly warehouse storage space. This allows the retailer to offer a wide range of products from various suppliers without bearing the financial burden of stocking and managing the inventory.
