Deodars are large evergreen coniferous trees belonging to the genus Cedrus within the family Pinaceae. The term specifically refers to Cedrus deodara, a species native to the western Himalayas, particularly in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
These majestic trees are known for their impressive size, with mature specimens reaching heights of up to 200 feet (60 meters). They feature a conical shape and have a wide, spreading canopy of dense foliage. The leaves are needle-like, arranged in clusters, and typically measure about one inch (2.5 cm) in length.
