CYGNSS (Cyclone Global Navigation Satellite System) is a scientific constellation comprising a fleet of microsatellites designed to provide accurate and rapid measurements of wind speeds within tropical cyclones. Each satellite in the CYGNSS constellation is equipped with a Delay-Doppler Mapping Instrument (DDMI) that utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS) signals reflected from the Earth's surface to measure fluctuations in wind speed over the oceans.
