Unlike the flu, colds usually do not cause severe illness or complications, such as pneumonia. However, in individuals with weakened immune systems or underlying health conditions, colds can potentially lead to more serious complications.
Preventive measures to reduce the risk of catching a cold include practicing good hygiene, such as regular handwashing, avoiding close contact with infected individuals, and covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
