Christopher Bond is an American politician who served as a United States Senator from Missouri. Born on March 6, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, Bond represents the Republican Party. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science from Princeton University and later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Bond began his political career in 1969 when he was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives. He later served as the Missouri State Auditor and then as the Governor of Missouri, holding the position for two terms from 1973 to 1977 and 1981 to 1985. As Governor, Bond focused on issues such as economic development, job creation, education, and law enforcement.
After leaving the governor's office, Bond successfully ran for the United States Senate in 1986 and served four terms until he retired in 2011. Throughout his tenure in the Senate, he held various leadership positions, including serving as the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Intelligence.
