Brontotherium is a noun that refers to an extinct genus of large, herbivorous mammals that belong to the family Brontotheriidae. It was part of the order Perissodactyla, which includes modern-day horses, tapirs, and rhinoceroses. Brontotherium existed during the Eocene epoch, approximately 56 to 34 million years ago.
