The Asian river turtle, scientifically known as Batagur baska, is a species of freshwater turtle native to various river systems across Southeast Asia. This medium-sized turtle belongs to the family Geoemydidae and is characterized by a distinct appearance and behavior, making it a unique species within its habitat.
