Algonquian is an adjective used to describe a Native American language family and the people who speak these languages. This language family is widely spoken across North America, from the northeastern United States to the Great Lakes region and into parts of Canada. The Algonquian family includes numerous distinct languages, such as Ojibwe, Cree, Blackfoot, and Powhatan, among others.
