Aleppo grass, scientifically known as Sorghum halepense, is a perennial grass species belonging to the family Poaceae. It is native to the Mediterranean region, particularly around the city of Aleppo in Syria, from which it derives its name. Aleppo grass is also commonly referred to as Johnson grass, although it should not be confused with the cultivated sorghum species.
